Son of King Mahājanaka, whom he succeeded as King of Mithilā.
His brother was Polajanaka, the viceroy, who later killed him and captured his kingdom.
Aritthajanaka's son was the Prince Mahājanaka, who was the Bodhisatta. J.vi.30-42.
